Top Suburbs to watch in 2016 for First Home Buyers

TopSuburbs2016

REIWA has released the top suburbs to watch in 2016 and you’ll be pleased to know that these are prime locations for First Home Buyers.

Deputy President of REIWA, Damian Collins, said “This tells us that first home buyers are taking advantage of Perth’s adjusting housing market to secure their first home, while home owners looking to trade-up are seeing great opportunity in the current market to take their next step in property ownership.”

Coming in at first place is Brabham. Located in Perth’s north east, it had the highest annual growth in annual house sales for the year in October listing 73.1% on the year to October 2015. The estimated rent per week is $380, perfect if you wish to be a Rentvestor. (stats from REA)

If the coast takes your fancy then Alkimos came in fourth. This beach side suburb ranked with the annual average change in house sales volumes lifting 20% in the year to October 2015. “Alkimos holds great appeal for first home buyers given it is a stone’s throw away from the beach”, said Mr Collins. The estimated rent per week in Alkimos is $420. (stats from REA)

Batting in for fifth place is Caversham which has a weekly rent return of $450. (according to REA) House sales figures in the area increased 19.6 per cent in the year to October 2015. “Caversham continues its popularity being so close to the upper reaches of the Swan and our superb wineries and it’s also the last typically first home buyer area to make the list.”
