Where are the Hottest Markets For Housing?
The Housing Industry Association has recently released the hottest locations for new home building across Australia and 5 WA suburbs have placed within the top 20.
Nationally, a “Hotspot” is defined as a local area where population growth exceeds the national average.
“A total of more than 220,000 new dwellings were commenced last year, so it’s no surprise there was a strong performance among housing Hotspots across Australia,” explained HIA Economist Diwa Hopkins.
"It is also encouraging to see WA still perform strongly this time at the national level, considering the difficulties arising from the natural resources downturn,” concluded Diwa Hopkins.
The top 5 Perth Hotspots are:
- Forrestdale, Harrisdale and Piara Waters placed together in 6th place nationally with a population growth rate of 20.0%.
The area features a number of master-planned, family-friendly residential communities, Piara Waters is situated in Perth’s high growth south-eastern corridor.
